A couple stores had opened in the state already, but none were ready to face the demand of the Washington state cannabis consumers. As the first store to maintain consistent stock, we haven’t been closed a single day since our official Grand Opening. There is so much we can be thankful for, from initial legalization to our amazing vendors, but our vendors are our number one blessing. Our second year of providing quality cannabis to our patrons is creeping around the corner and with it, we expect to have a wonderful celebration. In anticipation, we’d like to look back at Herbal Nation’s first anniversary ever.
Vendors came out with games, T-Shirts and virgin samples of their product (like Legal Soda, which was extremely refreshing). Six musical acts graced our stage, we had deals all day (such as $3 joints and $5 grams), a free henna artist, and a mighty delicious food truck that arrived around 3pm. The Irie Lights, Black Magic Noize, The Ill-Legitimates, Hands of Vengeance, Marshall Law, Often Rottin and The Northshore Band provided us with a great combination of hip hop and reggae from noon until 9:30 PM (all great local acts, check them out!). Every staff member was scheduled in anticipation of the busy day we were bound to have. With a stage, flags, wacky-waving-inflatable-arm-flailing-tube-men, and EZ-ups all over the lot, anybody driving by had to stop to see what all the commotion was about. And at the end, we all got a paid-for grilled cheese while we enjoyed the music. Our visiting vendors left around 5pm, but the music raged on until 9:30, and we started preparing for close at 10pm.
A huge thanks to our vendors that helped us to provide the blowout specials: Emerald Evolution, Cascadia Gardens, Magic Kitchen, Legends, Doc Croc, Legal Soda, SUBX, Sky High Gardens, and more. Also, thank you to the Grilled Cheese Experience- no joke, the best grilled sandwiches you can find. Thanks to our musicians as well as sound engineer for the day, Chase. You guys are what made the celebration official.
Keep an eye out, our second anniversary is coming up this August. We’ll post more details as the planning continues…
